So here we are a space for all to talk about what works and what does not in the tech world we in habit. If it does not work tell us and we will try to help fix it. If it works share it with us so we can pass it on and help others.

After many years involved in a church in Hull from playing in the worship band, recording and mixing live music. I became a freelance sound engineer working with some incredible artist. Major Christian events such as New Wine, Spring Harvest, Grape Vine, Festival Manchester. Missions with Louis Palu, Reinhard Bonnke, Rob Frost and many more.

I have have gained  great friends on this journey many of whom are willing to help with advice and some wisdom.

We would like to be able to share some of the knowledge we have gained over the years, I would also like to learn from you guys too.

So lets get talking.

Hi!

I’m Tim Kemp, have been involved in tech, primarily sound at New Life Church http://www.ilovechurch.co.uk for about 20 yrs and have also helped and consulted in other churches.

My day job is as an IT consultant.

I have lovely wife and four kids.

I’m happy to help any way possible, this site sits on one of my servers and came out of a discussion with Steve McManus and I over a regular trip to Starbucks!

Hi,

I’m Aaron, i’m a freelancer with a wealth of touring experience at FOH, Monitors and System Teching.

System designs and tours for 10cc, Glen Campbell, The Straits, Thriller Live etc

Real geek when it comes to sub alignment, phase calculation and system tuning. Very knowledgable when it comes to IEMs and personal mix systems such as Avioms etc due to theatre experience.

Was heavily involved with Life Church in Burnley lancs for many years, the only reason i am no longer is because i moved to london for work. Still close with the ministers and my parents are still very involved in the church.

I met Steve M many years ago at a Christian Youth Event for Wigwam and he messaged me regarding this.

Happy to answer questions and advise where i can.

Keep up the good work!

Hi

I’m Graham Craven from York, but I’ve worked in Spain for the past 25 years. I played various musical instruments as a kid, and joined a Christian music group back in the 80s, built sound systems and lighting systems and a few studios of minor importance but learned a lot in the process. I have basic acoustics knowledge, electronics applied to audio, so I can fix /design/build quite a lot of useful gear. Modded a Chinese tube mic recently with quite good results. Recorded, mixed and mastered a few  Christian CDs and love coaching others to do it better.

Recently I woke up spiritually and realized that my talents are for worship, so anything I can contribute to help equip the Church, I’m in.

Hi Steve

Just thought I’d join in introducing myself. I’m wearing several hats these days, but all revolving around event management production and co-ordination.  I’m happy to share experiences and advice where needed.

Hi,

Been involved in church AV for the last 13 years and head up a prominent AV installation company and a separate AV hire/events company. Involved in some of our nation’s cutting edge churches as well as a regular array of listed buildings. On events we’ve been involved in many of the leading church conferences e.g. Grapevine, Spring Harvest, Keswick, Faith Camp, Hillsong, Audacious, etc.

Met with Steve through events and eager to support ByHearing to help churches with advice where applicable.

I don’t know much about gear really I just enjoy making bands sound as good as I can. I know bits and I’ll chip in if I think I have anything of worth. Thanks for this Steve and Tim great idea. Hi
I’m Kev. I have been involved in music performance for many years. I was in a busy Gospel funk band in the 80′s working with Steve M in a highly regarded music ministry. These days I am full time – musical instrument teaching, performing, and running a mobile disco service in my local area.

regards
